How does BreatheFree Litter Box™ Mate support the environment?
Spent minerals from the BreatheFree Litter Box Mate pads convert to an sodium nitrate an organic fertilizer.
When your pad is done absorbing the ammonia from the litter (approximately 30 days) you can dispose the minerals by cutting open the pad at the corner and sprinkling the minerals over grass or gardens. Nitrogen from the absorbed ammonia is then gradually released into the soil, serving as a fantastic organic fertilizer and beneficial ingredient to the earth.
BreatheFree Litter Box Mate has a neutral pH of approximately 7.5.
Dimensions: 20.5" L x 18" W x 7" H
- Separate BreatheFree Litter BoxTM grate from pan.
- Remove BreatheFree Litter Box MateTM and unfold.
- Peel white release strip from double sided tape and place pad inside bottom of BreatheFree Litter BoxTM pan. Press on all sides to adhere.
- Gently shake to even out natural mineral in pad.
- Set BreatheFree Litter BoxTM grate on top of pad.
- Fill litter box with 3-4 “of desired cat litter.
- Scoop as usual; replace only litter that has been removed. DO NOT REMOVE GRATE PRIOR TO CLEANUP
- After 30 days, dump litter and remove grate and used pad; clean pan and grate; adhere new BreatheFree Litter Box MateTM.

Any kind! Our pads supplement any type of cat litter, however we find the pads work best with standard clay or sand clumping cat litter.
Can I use BreatheFree Litter Box Mate™ pads in any type of litter box?
Yes. The pads fit inside most standard-sized litter boxes.
Why won’t my BreatheFree Litter Box Mate™ pad stick to the bottom of the litter box?
In order for the pad to adhere properly to a litter box, the litter box must be COMPLETELY CLEAN. We recommend that you throw away any used litter, then carefully wipe the box clean with soap and water or multi-purpose cleaner. Once the bottom of the box is dry, you can adhere the pad to the box by pulling off the tape covers on the bottom of the pad.
How much cat litter should I pour on top of the BreatheFree Litter Box Mate™ pad?
Pour 3-4 inches of cat litter over the pad once it is properly adhered to the box.
Are the minerals inside BreatheFree Litter Box Mate™ flushable?
No! Do not flush the spent minerals down the toilet.
What should I do with my used BreatheFree Litter Box Mate™ pad after 30 days?
Carefully throw away the used cat litter, and remove the pad from the bottom of the box. You can throw the entire pad away, or snip the edges and sprinkle the nitrogen-rich minerals over your plants, grass, or garden! Breathe Free Litterbox Mate™ has a neutral pH of approximately 7.5.
How long does each BreatheFree Litter Box Mate™ pad last?
We’ve designed each pad to last approximately 30 days. Length of time may depend on how many cats are using the same litter box and pad. We recommend you have a new pad ready and waiting BEFORE that 30 day period ends. You don’t want a smelly litter box again!
